2 Chinese Killed in Blast in Karachi, Pakistan
An explosion close to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan, claimed the lives of two Chinese people. According to the Chinese embassy, a convoy of Chinese engineers engaged in a power project in Sindh province was the target of the explosion. But according to Pakistan’s Dawn, the explosion happened after an oil tanker and an automobile collided.
According to the BBC, which cited the embassy, it is unclear how many people were killed in the incident that occurred in Pakistan at around 11 p.m. local time. ‘Several Pakistani servicemen were killed and injured’ in the explosion, they added.
According to the Chinese embassy, the engineers were associated with Port Qasim Power Generation Company Limited, which receives funding from China. In Port Qasim, close to Karachi, the business is constructing two coal-fired power plants. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor includes the electricity plant.
The BLA, like other ethnic Baloch factions, has long advocated for its own state. Chinese nationals in the area have consistently been the target of the organization. They claim that the ethnic Baloch are not receiving the advantages of foreign investment.
