4 killed in explosion at Bogra Rice Bran Oil factory in Bangladesh
An oil tank explosion at a Majumdar Products Limited rice bran oil factory in Sherpur, Bogra, claimed the lives of at least four personnel. It is reported that this incident took place on Thursday around 1:30 pm.
Four technicians were working on Sherpur Majumdar Products Limited’s rice bran oil tank at midday. The four went down at that moment when the tank burst into flames. After being saved, they were brought to the Bogra Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced them deceased. It’s thought that during repairs, welding sparks got into the oil tank and caused the disaster.
Md. Imran (age 32), Mohammad Sayid (age 38) of Syedpur, Nilphamari, Rubel (age 31), and Md. Monir (age 28) are the deceased. The bodies have been housed at the Bogra Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue.
