7 aid workers killed in strike while delivering food in Gaza
Seven humanitarian workers were murdered in an Israeli strike after delivering food distribution in central Gaza’s Deir el-Balah. They were Australian, Polish, UK and Palestinian. World Central Kitchen is a US-based charity organization, stated several staff members were murdered in an Israeli air attack and urged Israel to end this indiscriminate killing in Gaza.
According to an Iranian official, Israel bombed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s consulate building in Damascus since the Israeli military had not succeeded in achieving its goals in Gaza, killing several persons, including a top commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised to “act immediately” to prevent Al Jazeera and other international news networks from functioning in the country.
Australian Prime Minister Antony Albanese declared that we want full accountability adding that his country had asked for a call-in from the Israeli ambassador and confirming that Australian Zomi Frankcom was one of the victims of the incident.
The United States informed Iran that it “had no involvement” in a suspected Israeli strike on an Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus.
Iran has said that it will reply to the missile strike that damaged its Damascus consulate, killing seven people, including a senior Iranian commander and his deputy.
There is little that remains of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza which was destroyed by Israeli forces. There are now allegations of horrific war crimes committed prior to the Israeli army leaving the demolished hospital.
According to the most recent UN food security assessment, an estimated 1.1 million people, or over half of the Gaza Strip’s entire population, are suffering from “catastrophic” hunger as a result of Israel’s siege of the region and limitations on the delivery of humanitarian supplies.
