Two weeks after Israeli soldiers left the region, Palestinian emergency services in Gaza report that they have recovered fifty dead from a mass grave at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis.
Israel continued its air raids on Rafah, killing at least eight Palestinians, including a pregnant lady and five children. Doctors in Rafah were able to preserve the baby of the pregnant mother slain in the Rafah incident.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said that 14 individuals had been murdered by Israeli soldiers during a raid on the Nur Shams refugee camp. Meanwhile, an ambulance driver was shot and killed by Israeli settlers as he attempted to assist Palestinians injured in violence south of Nablus.
According to media reports, the State Department panel recommended that Washington limit arms supplies to Israeli military units due to serious allegations of human rights violations. This led to the US mulling penalties against Israel’s Netzah Yehuda brigade.
Haniyeh, Hamas’ political director has called for a national unity government to run Gaza when Israel’s attack on the Palestinian territory ends.
“Hamas does not insist on being the exclusive authority in Gaza’s administration, but we are part of the Palestinian people and may form a national unity government in collaboration to rule Gaza. These are national concerns. We will not allow occupiers or anyone else to manage the Palestinian condition in Gaza, the West Bank or both,” he told Turkey’s Anadolu Agency.
Since October 7, Israel’s assaults on Gaza have killed at least 34,049 Palestinians and injured 76,901. The dead toll in Israel after Hamas’s October 7 strikes is 1,139, with others still held hostage in Gaza.
