9 Lakh 28 Thousand People are Without Electricity Due to Ongoing Floods
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that a total of 928,000 people in nine districts are without power due to the current floods in the south-eastern part of the country.
There are several areas that are highly affected by the ongoing floods and are without power, including Noakhali, Lakshmipur, chandpur, Chittagong, Comilla, Cox’s Bazar, Brahmanbaria and Moulvibazar.
The ministry also said that all the 17 substations in Feni, the worst-affected district, have been shut down. As a result, 4 lakh 41 thousand customers there have become without electricity.
Besides, 1 lakh 52 thousand in Comilla, 2 lakh 18 thousand in Noakhali, 78 thousand in Chittagong and 15 thousand in Lakshmipur are currently without electricity according to the information of the ministry.
