On April 8, 2024, at the Tongi railway station in Dhaka, Bangladesh, people board a train to return home. Hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshi capital city residents have left the metropolis to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their family in village homes as the holiday approaches.

This effort seeks to provide a safe and smooth journey for hundreds of thousands of visitors during one of the busiest travel times of the year. The police have forcefully discouraged passengers from endangering their lives by riding on the roofs of buses, pickup trucks and other commercial vehicles.
