Former IGP Mamun in Bangladesh Remanded for 4 Days

In the case pertaining to the 16-year-old boy’s death during the student-public protest, the court has awarded Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, the former Inspector General of Police, four-days remand.

Deputy Inspector (SI) of the police department in Shahbag. The former IGP was produced before the court by Moinul Islam Khan Pulak, who requested a 10-day remand. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Saifuzzaman issued the order. On September 3, Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun was taken into custody in Uttara. Twelve further murder cases that have been filed at various capital police stations have resulted in his arrest.

According to the remand request, the accused knew about the murder and violence. Therefore, he must be placed on remand in order to gather crucial information and locate the other guilty parties.

Kishor Ismaul Haque was shot and killed in Chankharpool on August 5, at approximately 11:30 a.m., according to the case statement. On August 7, he passed away at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

On August 25, Mahibul Haque, the victim’s older brother, filed a murder complaint at Shahbag police station against 26 individuals, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
