Italy is Interested in Seeing the ‘New Chapter’ of Bangladesh-Italy Relations
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has shown interest in establishing a ‘new chapter’ in relations with Bangladesh.
Interview with Md. Yunus Italian Prime Minister said “Italy was closed to Bangladesh”. Present at the meeting were Protocol Chief Khandaker Masudul Alam, Principal Adviser Office SDG Chief Coordinator Lamia Morshed, and Energy and Power Adviser Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan.
Meloni added that Italy will assist the important reforms implemented by the temporary government of Bangladesh. “You can depend on us to do that,”
The chief adviser urged the Italian Prime Minister to institute a systematic immigration policy from Bangladesh, arguing that risky illegal immigration will decrease if more workers from Bangladesh are permitted to enter Italy legally.
Meloni concurred, saying that the two nations had to cooperate in order to halt illegal immigration and provide individuals with training so that jobs can be created in Italy.
