Government Jobs: Age Limit Raised for Men and Women
The review committee in this regard has recommended 35 years for Men and 37 years forWomen.The head of the committee, Abdul Mueed Chowdhury, gave this information while talking to reporters at the secretariat on Monday (October 14). He also explained why this recommendation has been made.
Abdul Mueed said, “Girls have been given a slightly different age. We gave it to girls because it is not possible for girls to take the test at that age like boys.
He said, there are family obligations, marriage, children are born. So they can come. Apart from this, the number of our women officers is relatively less. There is a quota, but it is not so full yet. It is to be noted that a section of job aspirants has been demanding that the age limit for government jobs be increased to 35 years for several years.
A committee was formed to review the age limit for entry into government service on September 30, led by Abdul Mueed Chowdhury, former chief secretary of the Public Administration Reform Commission. After a week they submitted the report to the government.
Other members of the committee are Ministry of Public Administration Senior Secretary Mokhles Ur Rahman, former Joint Secretary Kawsar Zahura, former Additional Secretary Mohammad Iqbal and Saiful Islam.
