Pilkhana murder to be speedily re-investigated: Home Adviser

Interior Adviser Lt. General (Official) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that it is not possible to say whether a commission will be formed to investigate the Pilkhana murder or not. But a re-investigation must happen and it will be swift. The Home Affairs Adviser delivered the Chief Guest’s speech at the exchange meeting with various levels of BGB officials at the border conference center of the BGB headquarters in Pilkhana of the capital on Monday morning. Later, the adviser said these things during the press briefing. The adviser said the law and order situation is normalizing, but it will take more time to reach a very satisfactory level.

In the discussion meeting, the Home Affairs Adviser said that no laxity can be shown on the border. Maximum vigilance and vigilance should be maintained at the border. Strict stance should be taken to prevent smuggling while maintaining national interest.

The advisor said, BGB has to act according to their law and mandate. Their performance is better than ever. That’s why the general public is happy with the activities of BGB.

At this time, the Home Affairs Adviser urged the BGB to maintain good relations with the people. He said, as members of a well-disciplined and trained force, BGB members have to work according to the chain of command. However, illegal orders of superior officers cannot be obeyed. Regarding the order, whether it is valid and legal or not, it has to be considered with conscience. BGB officials including Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui were present in the exchange meeting.
