Netanyahu Falls Ill from Food Poisoning, to Carry Out Duties from Home

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has fallen ill due to food poisoning. However, according to a statement from his office, his condition is now stable, and he is gradually recovering. For the next three days, he will continue his official duties from home, reports Reuters.

On Sunday (July 20), Netanyahu’s office released a statement saying the 75-year-old Prime Minister began feeling unwell the previous night. Medical tests revealed he is suffering from intestinal inflammation and dehydration. He is currently receiving intravenous fluids as part of his treatment.

The statement added, “Following doctors’ advice, the Prime Minister will rest at home for the next three days and continue to manage state affairs from there.”

The statement also mentioned Netanyahu’s prior health issues. In 2023, a pacemaker was implanted in his body, and later in December, he underwent surgery to remove his prostate due to a urinary tract infection.

Though Netanyahu’s sudden illness has temporarily interrupted his usual routine, he remains actively engaged in leading the government’s ongoing political activities.
