Outbreak of deadly Marburg virus ends in Equatorial Guinea : WHO
The World Health Organization’s regional office for Africa announced on Thursday that the Marburg virus infection epidemic in Equatorial Guinea has concluded.
According to the organization, 42 days have passed since the last patient was released from treatment due to the deadly Marburg virus, which is related to Ebola.
The outbreak was notified on February 13 and was the first of its sort in Equatorial Guinea. There were 17 laboratory-confirmed illnesses and 12 fatalities. According to WHO, another 23 people died from a possible Marburg illness.
