A Dubai-Bound Passenger was Detained with Foreign Currency Worth Tk 2 Crore 44 Lakh
Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong apprehended a person who was traveling to Dubai and had foreign currency with him.
On Thursday afternoon, Sheikh Abdullah Alamgir, the Group Captain of the Airport, verified this information.
He stated that at approximately seven in the morning, Zakir Hossain was taken into custody as part of a coordinated operation between the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate and the National Security Intelligence Directorate (NSI). From Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, he boarded US-Bangla Airlines aircraft BS-343 to Dubai.
Alamgir said Zakir lives in Dhaka.
“He boarded the flight from Dhaka with the money,” an NSI official stated. After the flight landed in Chittagong, we followed him up using the information. Later on, Cash was discovered in his backpack. We discovered that he used to often go to Middle Eastern nations for hundi transactions after confirming his passport.”
