A knifeman killed a German visitor and injured others near France’s Eiffel Tower.
President Emmanuel Macron described the late-night incident near the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Saturday as “a terrorist attack” in which a man with a knife and hammer murdered a German tourist and injured two others including a British man.
Anti-terrorism prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard claimed on Sunday that a 26-year-old suspect a French national detained following the assault had vowed loyalty to the Islamic State in a prerecorded video. The suspect had informed police he was upset about the situation in Gaza and the fact Palestine. Minister Gerald Darmanin said that so many Muslims are dying in Afghanistan and Palestine.
Attacked on the Quai de Grenelle only steps away from the Eiffel Tower and the German visitor died from his wounds.
The British guy was one of the two victims that the assailant hit with a hammer while being pursued by police.
Prosecutor Ricard stated during a press conference that a probe into murder and attempted murder in relation to a terrorist organization was under progress. Three further members of the suspect’s family or group were being held by the police.
