When it started implementing on-site vaccination clinics at certain of its warehouses in March, Amazon launched the initiative to vaccinate its employees.
Amazon announced on Wednesday that it will shortly stop mandating face masks for workers inside warehouses who have had all vaccinations, unless mandated by law.
According to a notification provided to employees by Amazon, fully vaccinated operations employees in the United States will no longer be required to wear a face covering at work unless it is necessary by state or local regulations. This change will take effect on Monday.
In the notice to employees, Amazon stated that if it has been 14 days or more since the last dosage of the vaccine, it will consider the employee fully immunized. According to the company, employees also need a copy of their vaccination card.
Employees will be required by Amazon to input their vaccination records into an internal employee portal known as “A to Z” in order to confirm that they have had their vaccinations. Employees who have received all vaccinations will see a green check mark appear on their screen, which they can display as identification when they report for duty.
