Ansar and students clashed in front of the secretariat, at least 40 injured
Students clashed with Ansar members who were standing in front of the secretariat demanding nationalization. At least 40 people were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
On 25th August around 9 pm, a group of students from TSC of Dhaka University chased the Ansars in front of the secretariat. The Ansar also took part and chased the students. At this time, Ansar members were seen beating and injuring several students. At one point, the students retreated and took up positions in the school premises. On the other hand, the Ansar took a position in front of the secretariat and started shouting slogans.
The agitating students said that the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah, have been blocked inside the secretariat by the Ansars. Hearing the news, students came to rescue them. After some time, the Ansar members retreated from the area chasing the students. Then the secretariat was taken over by the students.
After the fall of the Awami League government, members of Ansar took to the field on Wednesday amid the movement of various parties of professionals to demand from the interim government. And they are not willing to work on the basis of daily allowance; They have been protesting on the streets every day since that day demanding the nationalization of jobs.
The agitating Ansar members tried several times to enter the secretariat through the gate next to Vidyut Bhawan but failed. Later around 3 pm, some officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs spoke to them and went to the Home Advisor’s office with a delegation of seven members.
