Awami League Leader Beaten to Death in Lakshmipur, Bangladesh

In Lakshmipur, a local Awami League leader was fatally beaten.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, the tragedy happened in Sadar Thana’s Panchpara village. According to the police, the late Noor Alam (60) served as the general secretary of the Awami League in Ward No. 2 of the Chandraganj Union in the Thana.

The late Noor Alam’s son, Arif Hossain, informed reporters, “My father was at home.” The father received a call on his cell phone from someone threatening to kill him. He was attempting to get out of the house. Ten or twelve individuals arrived at the house at that moment with sticks to beat his father. My father was later hunted and beaten by them. Throw it in the pond at home while you wait. From there, raised and thrashed once more. The attending physician pronounced the father deceased after he was brought to the hospital in a bleeding state.

According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Emdadul Haque of Chandraganj Police Station, political conflicts and old animosities resulted in one individual being beaten to death. When he got the news, he went to the location. Following an investigation, legal action will be conducted in response to a complaint submitted by the deceased’s family.
