Bangladesh won the International Hefzul Quran Competition in Kuwait

Bangladeshi Hafez Muaz Mahmud won the prestigious Kuwait International Quran Recitation Competition in 2024, earning international acclaim for his exceptional skills in Quran memorization and recitation. This competition, organized by Kuwait’s Ministry of Religion, is one of the most significant global events for Quran reciters, attracting participants from over 60 countries.

Hafez Muaz Mahmud, a student of Markazu Faizil Quran Al-Islami in Dhaka, was selected to represent Bangladesh after excelling in national-level selections conducted by the Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh. This victory marks another milestone for Bangladesh, which also achieved first place at the 44th International Hifzul Quran Competition in Makkah earlier in the year.

This recognition highlights the dedication of Bangladeshi participants to Islamic education and the global respect they command in the field.
