Singing the film’s iconic musical number I’m Just Ken to thunderous acclaim, Ryan Gosling played Barbie’s brother Ken once more.
After receiving nominations in 13 different categories, Oppenheimer emerged as the big winner of the evening, winning seven Oscars. Heavy-hitting categories including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor in a Leading Role and Best Actor in a Supporting Role were among those that brought home the gold.
Poor Things and The Zone of Interest also did well, winning four and two prizes, respectively. Emma Stone won Best Actress for her portrayal in Poor Things and surprising those who had expected Lily Gladstone to win.
During her victory speech, Emma Stone who won for her leading role in Poor Things said, “Lily I share this with you.” Gladstone and Stone were praised for their individual performances.
Film critic David Ehrlich stated on social media, “Lily Gladstone’s performance in Killers of the Flower Moon is *forever* and it always will be. Emma Stone is absolutely incredible in Poor Things.”
Making movies is akin to dreaming about this moment, as everyone who has worked in the industry knows. You do realize that, don’t you? During her Best Picture winning speech, British film producer Emma Thomas stated, “I could deny it, but I have been dreaming about this moment for so long.”
Emma Stone was one of the favorites in this category and she did not disappoint she defeated Lily Gladstone and other favorites to win Best Actress for the second time.
She had previously won the Best Actress award for her role in the musical film La La Land. She thanked the other ladies in her category as well as the cast and crew of Poor Things. Holding her Oscar, Stone declared, “It’s not about me.” “It’s about a team that came together to make something greater than the sum of its parts.” Michelle Yeoh, Sally Field, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron and Jessica Lange, all previous category winners were on stage to present the award.
After winning Best Picture and capping a night of victory in seven major categories, the Oppenheimer team has expressed gratitude.
Christopher Nolan was the driving force for this film’s identity. He’s unique, bright and I am extremely appreciative of him.” she continued.
After a competitive field of films, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer emerged victorious with the top prize of the evening for Best Picture.

The sibling pop duet won their first Oscar two years ago for the James Bond theme song “No Time to Explain” and they recently won the Grammy for song of the year for the mournful “Barbie” smash.
