Car Attack at Canadian Festival: 9 Killed, More Injured Feared

At least nine people have been killed in a car attack during a festival in Vancouver, Canada. Several others were seriously injured and taken to the hospital, raising fears that the death toll may rise.

The incident occurred on Saturday night (April 26), local time, at the intersection of East 43rd Avenue and Fraser Street in Vancouver. The attack took place shortly after the start of the annual “Lapu Lapu” festival, when a driver plowed a car into the crowd.

Videos circulating on social media show a chaotic scene, with multiple police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks present at the site. Several victims can be seen lying on the road.

Police have arrested the driver, a 30-year-old resident of British Columbia. While the incident is not currently being treated as a terrorist attack, authorities have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing.
