Chief Advisor Felicitates Victorious Women’s Football Team in Grand Ceremony
At this time, the members of the women’s football team presented their dreams and the daily struggles of the player’s life before the chief advisor. Professor Yunus listened attentively to the various demands and words of the winning players and promised solutions on priority basis.
The Bangladesh team won the title by defeating Nepal 2-1 in the final of the 7th SAFF women’s championship in Kathmandu last October 30. Addressing them, the Chief Adviser said, I congratulate you on behalf of the entire nation for this success. Nation is grateful to you. People of our country want success, and you have brought that success. Bangladesh women’s football team captain Sabina Khatun thanked the Chief Advisor for inviting her to the reception and said, “We feel honored to attend the reception.” He said, we have reached this stage after overcoming many obstacles. Not only the women’s football team, the women of Bangladesh as a whole have to go through various struggles.
The chief advisor asks each player to write down their personal aspirations, struggles and their various demands on a separate piece of paper and submit them to his office. Professor Yunus said, do not hesitate to write whatever you want, we will try to fulfill your demands. If something can be done now, we will do it.
Coach Peter Butler and manager Mahmuda Akhtar were also present at the event. Apart from this, advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Supradeep Chakma, Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar and Noorjahan Begum were also present.
