Children Most Vulnerable to Mpox Infection

A recent study conducted by the Global Health Organization has revealed that children are disproportionately affected by the ongoing mpox outbreak. The data indicates that younger individuals are more likely to experience severe symptoms and complications compared to adults.

The study found that children are particularly susceptible to mpox-related illnesses such as encephalitis, pneumonia and myocarditis. These conditions can be life-threatening and require intensive medical care.

Health experts are urging parents and caregivers to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to protect their children from mpox infection. This includes ensuring vaccination, practicing good hygiene, and avoiding contact with individuals who may be infected.

The World Health Organization is working closely with healthcare providers worldwide to raise awareness about the risks of mpox in children and to develop effective prevention and treatment strategies.
