Customers can Withdraw any Amount from the Bank from Sunday

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has increased the maximum amount of cash that can be taken out of banks due to the general improvement in the nation’s law and order situation.

Customers can withdraw any amount from Sunday.  That is, there are no restrictions on cash withdrawal.

Since Sheikh Hasina’s resignation and escape in the July coup on August 5, the law and order forces have shied away from their duties and due to this, the central bank has instructed banks on August 7 to limit the amount of daily cash withdrawals of customers.

The law and order situation was deteriorating and due to this the ban given by the central bank was relaxed after about a month.

The cash withdrawal amount is increased gradually as the situation gradually improves.  Last week, customers could withdraw a maximum of Tk 5 lakh per day from their account and the previous week the withdrawal limit was Tk 4 lakh.
