Demonstration by Agitators to Increase the Age Limit for Government Jobs in Bangladesh

Until their demands are met, several hundred job seekers who are calling for a rise in the age restriction for government positions have vowed to stay in front of the chief adviser’s home.

Protesters have been demanding an increase in the maximum age limit from 30 to 35 years old for government employment applications.

One of the demonstrators, Rasel Mahmud, declared, “We want to meet with the chief adviser and present our demands to him. We will cancel the sit-in plan if he guarantees us that our demand will be satisfied today.”

The gathering had gathered in front of the Shahbagh National Museum earlier in the day and then proceeded to the CA’s house. Witnesses said that after police used tear gas to scatter the protestors, they reunited and carried on with their demonstration.

The demonstrators were still outside the house at 4:00 p.m. waiting for an answer.
