Dipu Moni, Palak, Inu have been Arrested in the Student Murder Case
In a case pertaining to the August 4 killing of Ramiz Uddin Ahmed Roop, former minister Dipu Moni, state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, and five other people were shown being arrested today.
Ramiz attended Daffodil International University and was 24 years old.
Awami League-led 14-Party Alliance president Rashed Khan Menon, president of the Workers Party and chief strategist Shakil Ahmed, former head of news at Ekattor Television, principal correspondent Farzana Rupa, and former inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun are among the other accused.
After they were brought before the court at around 7:30 am by Tejgaon Police Station Inspector Md Sohel Rana, who had filed an application to display them as apprehended in the case, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan issued the ruling.
They had all been arrested previously on various occasions in relation to many cases that had been reported to various police stations. In the cases, they were remanded for varying periods of time.
AKM Rakibul Ahmed, the victim’s father, filed a case against former Prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 222 other people, including Palak, Dipu Moni, Inu, Menon, Shakil, Rupa, and Mamun, with Tejgaon Police Station on September 7.
