Drone Show on Bengali New Year Reflects the Spirit of a Rising New Bangladesh
On Monday night, the skies over Dhaka lit up in a mesmerizing display as part of the Bengali New Year 1432 celebrations. With the theme “New Year, New Bangladesh,” a spectacular drone show captured the spirit of a nation determined to march forward.
The core message of the show centered around the sacrifices and inspiration of the July mass movement, portraying the hope and resilience of a new, awakened Bangladesh.
Organized by the Shilpakala Academy under the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and with technical support from the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, the drone show featured a breathtaking display of 2,600 drones over the National Parliament complex.

Beginning at 7 PM, the 14-minute show presented 12 distinct motifs. These included tributes to martyrs like Shaheed Abu Saeed and Shaheed Mir Mughda, as well as depictions of brave women protesters, national unity, traditional Bangladeshi culture, and the friendship between Bangladesh and China.
One particularly emotional scene expressed solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom, which deeply moved the audience.
Earlier in the afternoon, a vibrant concert was held at Manik Mia Avenue, starting with a performance by the Basic Guitar Learning School from Bandarban. The musical event featured performances by F Minor Band, Mithun, folk artist Islamuddin Palakar, Rakib and Sagor Dewan, Arj Ali, Atia Anisha, Ahmed Hasan Sunny, Parsa, and the band Ashes.
All the artists came together to perform the iconic song “Eso He Boishakh,” which resonated deeply with the crowd.
Special guests at the event included Cultural Affairs Advisor Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen.
