Due to Heavy Rains, River Water has Crossed the Danger Level in Barisal, Bangladesh

The Divisional Water Development Board (PUBO) reported that the main rivers in the Barisal division have exceeded the threshold due to an increase in water level brought on by the recent rainfall.

At Jhalakathi point and Betagi point in Barguna, the Bishkhali river in the Barisal division has risen six millimeters and three cm, respectively. At Tajumuddin point in Bhola, the Meghna River rose by 66 cm, the Kacha River at Umedpur point in Pirojpur by three cm, and the Baleshwar River at Pirojpur point by four cm.
Barisal got 137 mm, Bhola district got 150 mm, Jhalakathi got 139 mm, Pirojpur got 157 mm, Barguna district got 129 mm, and Patuakhali district got 178 mm in the past 24 hours.

Residents claimed that because of the intense rain, water had gathered in Barisal City’s lower regions. Furthermore, in over fifty fields along the coast, two to four feet of water had accumulated.
