Fire in several furniture shops in Badda, under control after one and a half hours
A fire has occurred in some furniture shops in Badda of the capital. Fire service members brought the fire under control in 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Fire service control room duty officer Rafi Al Farooq said the fire was brought under control at 5:40 am.
He said, on Monday night at 3:57 pm, I received information that there was a fire in some shops on the opposite side of Subastu Tower in Badda. After reaching the spot, four units of fire service started working to extinguish the fire.
He also said that later two more units were added there. Our crews brought the fire under control at 5:40 am on Tuesday after over an hour and a half of efforts.
Eyewitnesses said that the fire broke out in a wooden shop on the opposite side of Subastu Tower around 3:30 PM on Monday. Later, the fire spread to nearby shops. The fire from the wood shop spread to parts of three neighboring buildings.
Some flats of three nearby buildings were damaged. A sawmill here was also badly damaged in the fire.
