Following an initial government criticism, French MPs accept the vaccine pass legislation.

A negative COVID-19 test will no longer be accepted for entry into the majority of public spaces under the bill.

On Thursday morning, a bill to convert the COVID-19 health pass into a vaccine pass was passed by French Members of Parliament.

At 5:25 in the morning, the law was approved with 214 votes in favor, 93 against, and 27 abstentions.

It is anticipated to take effect in the second part of the month and will go before the Senate early the following week.

After that, anybody over 12 will need to provide proof of their immunization status in order to enter amusement parks, bars and restaurants, fairs, or interregional public transportation. With the exception of access to medical facilities and services, a negative test will no longer be adequate.

Among their changes was a delay in the requirement for vaccination passes for school excursions and extracurricular activities for kids between the ages of 12 and 16.
