HBO Max’s New Releases Coming in September

HBO Max is changing its lineup of movies and TV series to reflect the new month.

Edward Zwick’s epic war film Blood Diamond, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Hounsou, and Lasse Hallstrom’s drama The Cider House Rules, starring Tobey Maguire, Charlize Theron, and Michael Caine, are two of the movies that will be available at the premium site in September.

For a humorous fix, the 1994 independent comedy Clerks by Kevin Smith and its follow-up, Mrs. Congeniality, both starring Sandra Bullock as an FBI agent going undercover at a beauty pageant, will be available on the platform. The 1978 film adaptation of Grease, starring Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta, is showing up with a number of other well-known films, like Dog Day Afternoon and The Wedding Singer.

There’s also the underappreciated thriller Murder By Numbers starring Michael Pitt and a young Ryan Gosling coming out, along with Fatal Attraction and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. In terms of television, The Big Bang Theory prequel Young Sheldon is making a splash on the network.
