Celine Dion’s health has returned to the forefront as she performed at the 2024 Grammy Awards making her first public appearance after being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome a neurological illness that causes stiffness and muscular spasms.
Celine Dion announced Taylor Swift as the recipient of the most coveted prize of the evening, album of the year during the ceremony on February 4.
She took the crowd by surprise when she came out on stage and was led to the microphone to deliver an inspirational statement on the healing power of music.
She said “Thank you everybody I love you all right back. I genuinely mean it when I say that I’m glad to be here”. Her health problem forced Dion to terminate her residence in Las Vegas in 2021. She revealed her formal diagnosis of stiff person syndrome a condition that can impair the muscles required for singing in December 2022.
