Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the Caretaker Government, said that extremism would not increase in Bangladesh in an interview with the British publication The Economist. He underlined that Bangladesh’s young people are agnostic about religion and committed to creating a new Bangladesh. The world can be changed by these young individuals. This goes beyond simply switching from one nation to another. Bangladesh’s actions demonstrate the might of the young. We ought to listen to them, particularly the young ladies.

In the interview on Friday, Dr. Yunus responded to a question concerning the threat of extremism in Bangladesh by saying, “The youth have played a crucial role in Bangladesh’s revolution.” Young people should be our main priority so they can achieve their goals. They are capable and have the opportunities. My cabinet includes the three young leaders who spearheaded the revolution. They are performing admirably. They are quite competent. The youth of today are different from those of the previous century. They are this century’s youth. They are just as competent as everybody else.

“My job has actually been taken away; I was forced into this role,” Dr. Yunus told the magazine when asked what he would do after planning the 2025 elections. I was having fun while working, and I was in Paris for that reason. I felt pressured to try something else. I would, therefore, be delighted to resume my daily employment, which I have done all my life. The young people adore it as well. I will thereby rejoin the group or movement I founded on a global scale.

According to the Economist’s assessment of the country, Bangladesh, which overthrew an authoritarian, is this year’s winner. Sheikh Hasina, who had ruled the nation of 170 million people for almost 16 years, was overthrown in August by a student protest movement. She once guided the country to economic progress as the daughter of the nation’s independence hero. However, she then started to repress dissent, manipulate elections, arrest opposition leaders, and give security personnel orders to shoot demonstrators. Large quantities of money were embezzled and laundered overseas under her rule.
