How will the 2024 Pakistani election be conducted?
A new administration to steer the crisis-ridden South Asian country for the next five years will be formed on Thursday when Pakistani voters go to the polls in a nationally broadcast major election.
Pakistan is a parliamentary democracy and voters will elect members to the federal legislature known as the National Assembly as well as four provincial or state legislatures.
All Pakistanis over the age of 18 are eligible to vote, accounting for 128 million of the country’s 241 million population. Polling booths are typically open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. However this might be extended in extraordinary situations.

The federal government is made up of cabinet ministers chosen by the newly appointed prime minister. Provincial governments and chief ministers are chosen using a comparable procedure.
