Huge night for Billie Eilish at her first Grammy Awards
Billie Eilish, an 18-year-old singer-songwriter, has won four of the Grammys’ four biggest awards.
Eilish, along with her brother Finneas O’Connell, has been making waves in the music industry with her debut album, “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”
The first-time Grammy nominee won awards for song of the year, record of the year, album of the year, best new artist, and best pop/vocal album.
Eilish was one of the night’s biggest winners, grabbing five of the six she was nominated for. She lost out to fellow first-time nominee Lizzo for best pop solo performance.
Eilish is the youngest artist in Grammys history to be nominated in all four major categories at the same time and now the youngest person to win the four top prizes.
She beat Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” and Lil Nas X’s song of the summer “Old Town Road” to win the gold gramophone for song of the year with her hit “Bad Guy.” Eilish expressed her gratitude for the award and urged other kids making music in their bedrooms to follow in her footsteps.
