India’s daily Covid-19 cases cross 400,000
As the infection count surpassed 19 million, India on May 1 recorded more than 400,000 cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), marking the first instance of such cases since the pandemic started, according to the Union ministry of health and family affairs. India has increased its Covid-19 case count to 19,164,969 with 401,993 new cases.

After the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on April 30 that vaccines will not be administered in Mumbai for three days, a private security guard is stationed outside an empty Covid-19 immunization center. Some states have stated that they would be unable to begin the drive on the first day owing to a scarcity of vaccinations.
