During the vote-counting process at the party headquarters in New Delhi, BJP employees and supporters celebrate the party’s victories in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. As the Congress prepared to unseat BRS from Telangana on Sunday. The BJP strengthened its hold on the Hindi heartland with assembly victories in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The three to one vote result set the tone and the scene for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Voters in the four states’ assembly elections on Sunday saw a patchwork of results on the Election Commission website some of which appeared to be influenced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It appeared to be anti-incumbency in the states of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh controlled by the Congress and pro-incumbency in Madhya Pradesh ruled by the BJP.
The elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh saw the BJP and the Congress square off setting the stage for the 2024 elections. The Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led by Chandrashekhar Rao fought it out directly in Telangana with the latter wanting to win a hat-trick.
People have blessed the BJP in three states endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and rejected the Congress false promises Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said as counting day advanced and jubilation erupted in BJP quarters throughout the country.
With leads in 161 seats and the Congress faring poorly in the 230 members legislature. The BJP appeared poised win another term in power in Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh is a soft spot in their hearts for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The state is also close to Modi said Shivraj Singh Chouhan who has served four terms as Chief Minister. Over eighteen years has seen the BJP rule the state.
