Kim Jong Un receives expensive automobile as a gift from Vladimir Putin.

President Vladimir Putin of Russia sent the opulent car to Kim Jong Un of North Korea as a gift and he drove it for the first time.

Since Kim and Putin had their first summit in four years last September in Russia. Pyongyang and Moscow have developed stronger connections.

Putin also allowed Kim to try out his high-end Aurus Senat limousine, which arrived in Pyongyang in February.

On Friday, Kim used the car for the first time, according to his sister and prominent government official Kim Yo Jong.

The journey was clear proof of the DPRK-Russia friendship, which is developing comprehensively on a new high stage. Kim Yo Jong was quoted as saying by state-run KCNA using the acronym for North Korea’s official name the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

According to Russian state media, Aurus is Russia’s first luxury car brand and it has been used in the motorcades of high officials since Putin’s inauguration in 2018.

The forty-year-old Kim Jong Un is thought to have brought luxury cars from overseas into the nation illegally. He took a special train to Russia and used it to transport a Maybach limousine between the locations of their meetings. Kim is said to have also driven a Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman Guard and a Maybach S62.

A United Nations report from 2021 reported an alleged cargo of luxury vehicles worth more than $1 million from the United Arab Emirates to Ningbo, China for delivery to North Korea.

Over the past year, while Moscow has continued to invade Ukraine on a large scale and North Korea has advanced it’s nuclear and weaponry programs, the two countries have grown closer. Concerns about North Korea giving Russia weaponry to use in its conflict in Ukraine in exchange for technological know-how have been voiced by the US and South Korea.
