Literacy rate in Bangladesh rises to 74%

The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) Household Income and Expenditure Survey 2022 revealed that the country’s literacy rate increased to 74%.

The survey results, released Thursday, stated that the literacy rate was 65.6% in 2016 and 57.91 percent in 2010.

To determine the literacy rate, those older than seven years old were taken into account.

From January 1 to December 31 of last year, 14,400 homes participated in the BBS survey.
