Maulana Lutfur Rahman has passed away.
Popular Islamic Speaker and Central President of Bangladesh Majlisul Mufassirin Allama Lutfur Rahman has passed away (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun).
He died on Sunday (March 3) at 2:54 PM while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital. This was confirmed by his younger son Abu Salman Mohammad Ammar.
Earlier on the night of February 16, an operation was done on his brain. Maulana Lutfur Rahman never regained consciousness after that.
Incidentally, on the morning of February 14, Maulana Lutfur Rahman suffered a brain stroke at his home in Ramganj Upazila of Laxmipur. He was then taken to Laxmipur Modern Hospital. Doctors said that he suffered a brain stroke at that time. Later he was brought to Dhaka for better treatment.
Allama Lutfar Rahman is known as an internationally renowned Islamic speaker. He is known as a renowned speaker in the country and abroad. In personal life, he is the father of 5 daughters and 2 sons.
Lutfur Rahman was born in 1940 in Badarpur village of Karpara union in Ramganj upazila of Laxmipur. During his career he served as the Principal of Rajkhali Aliya Madrasa. Besides he participated in the National Assembly elections in 1991 and 1996 as a candidate for Lakshmipur Ramganj Constituency.
