Moeen Ali Bid Farewell to the International Cricket World

Moeen Ali has officially announced his retirement from international cricket today, bringing an end to a highly successful and influential career. The announcement marks the conclusion of an era for one of England’s most versatile all-rounder. He was not considered for England’s upcoming white-ball series against Australia.

In 2014, Moeen made his England white ball debut. He represented England in 92 T20 matches and 138 ODIs. That year, he played his first Test match at Lord’s against Sri Lanka. He then participated in 68 Test matches for England. Over three editions, he has amassed six thousand 678 runs. He has eight hundreds and twenty-eight fifty total. In all editions, he has claimed 366 wickets against the spin.

The off-spinning all-rounder announced, “I am now 37 years old. I didn’t get a place in the Australia series this month. I have been playing a lot of cricket for England. Now is the time for the next generation. It was also explained to me. I think that’s right. My lesson stops here.”

Even if he decides not to play for his country, this cricket player will still play for his franchise. In addition to playing for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League, he is keen to become a coach once he retires.
