Mushfiqur on the Verge of Historic 100th Test — Just Two Matches Away!
Bangladesh’s Mr. Dependable, Mushfiqur Rahim, is on the cusp of a historic milestone in Test cricket. The seasoned wicketkeeper-batter is set to become the first Bangladeshi cricketer to play 100 Test matches — a feat he could achieve this November at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.
Mushfiqur made his Test debut back in 2005 at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground against England. Two decades later, his journey in the game’s most prestigious format continues. Having already played 98 Tests, he is part of Bangladesh’s squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Ireland. If all goes according to plan, he will reach his 100th Test in the second and final match of the series.

The first Test is scheduled to begin on November 11 in Sylhet, while the second — potentially Mushfiqur’s historic game — will be held from November 19 in Mirpur.
Over his Test career, Mushfiqur has amassed 6,328 runs, including 12 centuries and 27 half-centuries. He remains the only wicketkeeper-batter in the world with multiple double centuries in Test cricket. Though he has retired from ODIs and T20Is, Mushfiqur continues to be a mainstay in Bangladesh’s red-ball setup.
Ireland are set to arrive in Bangladesh on November 6. Following the Test series, the two sides will head to Chattogram for a three-match T20I series, wrapping up the tour.
