Apple has unveiled its latest 2026 MacBook Pro lineup, introducing major upgrades in display technology, performance and design. The new models bring tandem OLED touchscreen technology to the MacBook Pro for the first time, marking a significant change in Apple's professional laptop lineup.
Announced on October 28, the redesigned MacBook Pro will be available in 14-inch and 16-inch versions, powered by Apple's M5 Pro and M5 Max processors. The company says the new devices are designed for professionals working in video editing, photography, graphic design, software development and other demanding creative fields.
One of the biggest highlights is the new PROLED XDR display, which uses tandem OLED technology. It offers peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits, a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The touchscreen feature allows users to interact directly with applications, edit creative projects and navigate content using familiar touch gestures.
Apple has also introduced Dynamic Island to the Mac for the first time, bringing Spotlight search, Live Activities and Siri AI features into a new interactive interface. The redesigned laptops are thinner and lighter than their predecessors and promise up to 24 hours of battery life.
