Niki made history by defeating Trump
Nikki Haley has defeated former US President Donald Trump in the Republican primary in Washington DC.
Nikki Haley won the Republican Party’s first-ever victory over Trump in the US presidential election. The former UN ambassador also lost to Trump in his home state of South Carolina. However, Nikki made history by winning the primary in Washington DC.
Trump received 33.2 percent of the vote in Washington, DC. On the contrary, Niki received 62.9 percent of the votes. As a result, Nikki received 19 delegates from Washington DC. With this, the number of Niki representatives across the country stood at 43. And Trump has 247 delegates.
Nikki Haley is the first woman in US history to win a Republican primary. However, Trump is far ahead in getting the nomination of the Republican Party in the US presidential election. So far, the former US president has won most states’ primaries or caucuses. Despite this, Nikki Haley is not willing to leave the field. He has announced that he will continue to fight against Trump.
