Nusrat Faria Breaks Silence on ‘Mujib’ Backlash and Upcoming Projects
Renowned actress Nusrat Faria, who portrayed Sheikh Hasina in the biopic Mujib: The Making of a Nation, has finally addressed the criticism she faced following the fall of the Awami League government. The film, which celebrated the life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, received widespread acclaim upon its release. Faria’s dedication to the role was evident, as she maintained the same look for five years, refraining from dyeing her hair and adhering to a specific weight range.
In a recent podcast interview, Faria expressed no regrets about her involvement in the film, stating, “If I regret that work now, it would be disrespecting my own profession.” She emphasized the physical and emotional effort she invested in the project, describing it as a significant chapter in her career.
Addressing her absence during the student movement, Faria clarified that she was in Canada for shows at the time but had shown her support for the students through social media. She acknowledged past mistakes and encouraged others to verify her stance online.
On a brighter note, Faria’s upcoming film Jinn-3 is set to release during Eid, with the song Konna already gaining immense popularity. The actress remains optimistic about her future projects, despite the challenges she has faced.
