Once Kicked Out, Now the Owner: Entrepreneur Takes Over Luxury Hotel in Macao
Simon Seo grew up in an area in the middle of Macau, China. He lived in an old house near the most prestigious Hotel Central in the city. Opened in 1928, the hotel later became a convention venue for stars, celebrities and diplomats.
In the 1960s, little Simon Cio entered the Hotel Central one day while playing. But the hotel people pushed him out by the neck.
Remembering that childhood memory, ‘He didn’t understand much when he was young. He just looked at that hotel and swore that one day he would buy it.’
How many people make such a vow in childhood, but in reality it is possible to fulfill it, but it is not possible. Simon Seo. also turned that vow into reality.
That little CO of that day is now a full-fledged businessman of 65 years. In 1991, he founded his own real estate development company, Lake Hang Group. Recently he cut the ribbon of 96 years old and famous Hotel Central as the new owner.
Seo said that he bought Hotel Central not just to fulfill personal desires. Added to this was a desire to preserve Macau’s rich history.
