Polling centers will be closed immediately if there is any evidence of voting fraud: CEC Awal
Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal states that polling places will be closed if there is even a hint of vote-rigging.
The CEC issued the caution while requesting all candidates’ assistance in order to hold an unbiased, free, and fair election. Additionally, he gave them explicit instructions to follow the electoral code of behavior.
Awal made the remarks during a meeting with candidates at the Barishal Deputy Commissioner’s office on Saturday.
He asked the candidates to reject the notion that they had to commit irregularities in the electoral process at the outset of the event.
The CEC stated that the returning officer was unable to alter the votes. Every center makes its own vote total public. The findings will be accessible to candidates from the comfort of their own homes.
Trust in the system and allow voters to cast their ballots, he said.
The CEC stated that there has been discussion on the election for a number of reasons and that numerous nations have commented on them. These nations have campaigned for the freedom, equity, and impartiality of the people to cast ballots.
Awal stated that he hoped that all of the candidates running in the general election will work together to ensure its success.
