Rain Persists Across the Country Despite Low-Pressure System Moving Away from Bay of Bengal
Although the low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal has moved away, various parts of the country continue to experience widespread rain, with the downpour expected to persist throughout Thursday. Dhaka, along with many other regions, is likely to see continued rainfall throughout the day, according to the Meteorological Department.
Another forecast called for southerly/southerly winds over Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Dhaka, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet regions. Rain/Thundershower with gusty/gusty wind at 45-60 kmph from east.
In the capital, Dhaka, intermittent rain has already disrupted daily life, affecting traffic and public transportation. The authorities are advising caution for commuters as waterlogging in low-lying areas could worsen throughout the day. The city is expected to see light to moderate rain, with occasional heavier spells.
The weather department has urged the public to remain updated on local forecasts and take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to waterlogging or flash floods. The rain is expected to ease by the weekend as the weather system fully clears, but until then, residents should be prepared for more wet weather today.
As the rain continues to affect much of the country, people are advised to plan accordingly and stay safe during this period of unstable weather.
