Rihanna, Bill and Zuckerberg attend India’s Anant Ambani pre-wedding gala.
The son of Asia’s richest man reportedly celebrated his forthcoming marriage with 500 dishes, over a thousand guests and a multimillion-dollar budget.
Anant Ambani and his wife-to-be Radhika Merchant hosted a three-day celebration that brought together Bollywood aristocracy, tech millionaires, sports icons and even Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump.
The occasion has enthralled spectators in India and worldwide with everyone soaking up every detail from his father Mukesh Ambani’s party in Jamnagar, Gujarat over the weekend.
It was so large that the local airport was temporarily awarded international status attracting tourists from all across the country and the world. According to airport officials approximately 130 aircraft arrived for the event transporting people such as Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg to the region.
Most of the attendees camped in luxury “glamping” tents near the event which promised a degree of elegance most people couldn’t dream let alone afford and were reportedly able to choose from over 500 delicacies produced by dozens of chefs from across the world.
There were also hair and makeup artists, laundry services and stylists on hand to assist guests in preparing for the themed festivities which were claimed to be meticulously planned out in a nine-page itinerary.
The highlight was pop artist Rihanna’s first performance in India for which she was believed to have been paid around $7 million (£5.5 million). Some of India’s greatest cinema stars danced to her hit songs on stage.
Guests were invited to a tour of Anant Ambani’s pet project a 3,000-acre refuge that houses thousands of animals. It wasn’t all about the celebration, though. Mukesh Ambani, the head of Reliance Industries has had 14 new temples built in the city. Ambani is reported to be worth $115 billion by Forbes. All eyes are now expected to be on the wedding, which is scheduled to take place in Mumbai in July.
The Ambanis went all out with the decor of the several sites that hosted Anant and Radhika’s pre-wedding events. As a result the decor at the pre-wedding events has gone viral on social media due to its sheer beauty and attention to detail. The walls at several locations were decorated with magnificent white peacock designs and the door handles were styled like elephant heads. Celebrity florist Jeff Leatham was also enlisted to create the stunning and grandiose flower arrangements in tones of purple, pink and white that adorned Jamnagar and transformed it into something out of a fairy tale.
As celebrities visited the Vantara Animal Shelter, netizens were treated to a variety of quirky and striking patterns and furnishings including flower-shaped couches and ornate nature-inspired murals. Giant chandeliers and chairbacks adorned with beautiful peacocks and other nature themes completed the exquisite features. Mela Rouge had intricate and romantic rose arrangements in tones of pink and red and the ambiance was almost movie-like with an Indian tinge to the carnival decor.
