Salim Chowdhury Re-elected as a Standing Committee Member of DCCI for 2025

On February 11, 2025, the first meeting of the DCCI’s Digital Economy and Information Technology (DEIT) Committee took place. The meeting focused on a detailed discussion of the potential and challenges of blockchain technology. During the session, Salim Chowdhury emphasized the importance of leveraging blockchain technology for Bangladesh’s economic and technological advancement.

However, he highlighted several challenges for successful implementation, including the lack of regulatory frameworks, security risks, and a shortage of skilled workforce. Salim Chowdhury believes that if Bangladesh can overcome these challenges and adopt both blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI), the country will be able to establish a competitive position in the global market.

He further stated that the world is moving towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where blockchain and AI will play crucial roles. To keep pace with these changes, Bangladesh needs to advance in the development and application of new technologies.

Mr. Salim Chowdhury also mentioned that a coordinated effort between the government and private sector would strengthen Bangladesh’s IT industry, leading to a stronger international position. His re-election to the DCCI is expected to unlock new possibilities for the country’s digital economy and tech sector, solidifying Bangladesh’s standing on the global stage.
