Salman, Anees, Palak, Manik and Mamun Arrested in Connection with Multiple Cases
Former prime minister’s adviser Salman F Rahman, former law minister Anisul Haque, former state information minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, former justice Manik and former IGP Abdullah Al Mamun have been arrested in a new and separate case.
Among them, former Justice Manik has been arrested in six cases, Salman F Rahman in three cases, Junaid Ahmed Palak in three cases, Anisul Haque in three cases and Abdullah Al Mamun in two cases.
At 8 am on Wednesday (September 18), they were taken from the jail to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court in Dhaka. At this time, the police requested to show their arrest in 13 murder cases of Badda-Lalbagh-Adabar and Khilgaon police stations. After the hearing, Metropolitan Magistrate Zaki Al Farabi’s court granted their application to show arrest in various cases.
Former MPs were remanded for 7 to 10 days. The former IGO of police was in police custody. However, on Tuesday, the former judge Manik, who was arrested in the case of trespassing into India, got bail in Sylhet court. In the evening, he was brought to Dhaka by helicopter.
